Sound waves target tumors in groundbreaking UK trial

NCT ID NCT05111964

Summary

This study is testing a non-invasive treatment called High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) for people with soft tissue sarcoma or desmoid tumors. HIFU uses targeted sound waves to try to destroy tumor cells from outside the body, aiming to control the disease with minimal side effects. The research will involve about 10-16 patients in the UK to see if the treatment is safe, feasible, and effective for these conditions.
