NCT ID NCT03342625

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 19, 2026 · Updated 18 times

Summary

This study is testing whether high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) can destroy small breast tumors before a patient's scheduled surgery. The goal is to see if this non-invasive, radiation-free technique can completely eliminate the cancer cells in the treated area. Fifteen patients with small, early-stage tumors will receive the ultrasound treatment, followed by surgery a few days later so doctors can check the results.
