Sound waves vs. breast cancer: No-Scalpel tumor destruction tested

Summary
This study tests whether high-intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) can destroy breast tumors without surgery. About 15 women with small, early-stage breast cancers will receive HIFU before their planned surgery. Researchers will check if the ultrasound completely kills the invasive cancer cells, with the goal of offering a non-invasive treatment option.
