First seen Dec 30, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether surgically closing a small hiatal defect (where the stomach bulges into the chest) can control acid reflux in people with early GERD. Researchers will enroll 40 adults aged 18-50 who have a small defect and proven acid reflux. The goal is to see if this procedure alone can stop reflux without the need for long-term medication.
