Herbal hope: propolis and green tea may beat standard care for root canal pain
NCT ID NCT07578311
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether natural medicines (propolis and green tea extract) placed inside the tooth can reduce pain and sudden flare-ups after a root canal retreatment. Forty adults with a failed root canal on a single-rooted tooth will be randomly assigned to get either the standard calcium hydroxide paste or one of the herbal options. Pain levels will be tracked for a week, and any severe pain or swelling will be recorded.
