Herbal remedy trial aims to soothe troubled stomachs
NCT ID NCT07198243
Summary
This study is testing whether a herbal medicine called STW 5-II can improve gut health and reduce symptoms in adults recently diagnosed with functional dyspepsia, a condition causing frequent stomach discomfort after eating. Researchers will compare the herbal medicine to a placebo (inactive treatment) over 8 weeks to see if it reduces certain immune cells in the gut lining and eases symptoms like bloating and pain. Participants will provide small gut tissue samples and report on their symptoms and quality of life.
