Ancient herbs tested as modern depression aid
NCT ID NCT07085143
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a traditional Chinese herbal formula, called Compound Ciwujia Granules, to standard antidepressant medication (SSRIs) can help reduce symptoms of depression more effectively. It will involve 60 adults with a specific pattern of depression described in traditional Chinese medicine. Participants will take either the herbal granules or a placebo (inactive look-alike) for 8 weeks while continuing their regular medication to see if the herbal addition makes a difference.
