Doctors investigate if standard Kidney-Liver treatment works for complex cases

NCT ID NCT06161766

Summary

This study looked back at medical records to understand how well a standard treatment works for patients with both sudden kidney failure and advanced liver disease, who also had signs of pre-existing chronic kidney problems. Researchers compared 490 hospitalized patients who received the drug terlipressin with albumin. The goal was to see if the treatment helped improve kidney function and survival in these complex cases compared to patients without the chronic kidney issues.
