New surgery aims to stop ovarian cancer spread in its tracks

Summary

This study tests if removing lymph nodes near the liver (hepato-celiac lymphadenectomy) can help control advanced or recurrent ovarian cancer. About 94 women with stage III/IV or platinum-sensitive recurrent ovarian cancer will have this surgery. The main goal is to see how many women are free of cancer progression or death two years after the procedure.
