Summary

This study looked at how many organ transplant patients in the US have been exposed to hepatitis E virus. Researchers tested blood from 447 adults who had a liver, kidney, or small bowel transplant, or were waiting for one. The goal was to see if hepatitis E is a common problem in this group and to learn about possible risk factors.
