First seen May 15, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026

Summary

This study looked at whether women aged 50 to 74 getting a routine mammogram for breast cancer screening would also agree to a quick hepatitis C test. The goal was to find undiagnosed hepatitis C cases and connect those women to care. About 1,500 women took part, and the study measured how many agreed to the test and how many tested positive.
