Hepatitis b cure hope for kids: new trial targets functional cure in toddlers
NCT ID NCT07345624
First seen Jan 17, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study tests whether a combination of two antiviral drugs (entecavir and pegylated interferon) can achieve a functional cure for chronic hepatitis B in children aged 3 to 6 years. A functional cure means the virus is undetectable and stays that way for at least 24 weeks after treatment ends. The trial will enroll 80 children who have not received prior treatment and compare the drug combo against entecavir alone.
