First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 20, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looked at whether a newer type of dialysis called 'online hemodiafiltration' is better tolerated and reduces heart problems compared to standard high-flux hemodialysis. It involved 415 adults over 65 with advanced kidney failure who had been on dialysis for at least 3 months. Researchers tracked side effects during sessions, quality of life, heart events, and survival rates.
