First seen Apr 02, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 5 times

Summary

This study aims to find out how common Helicobacter pylori infection is in people newly diagnosed with stomach cancer in the West Indies. Researchers will collect tumor samples, healthy tissue, and blood to build a biobank for future studies on other risk factors, such as environmental pollutants. The goal is to better understand why stomach cancer is more common in the West Indies than in France and to improve prevention. About 112 adults living in Martinique with a new stomach cancer diagnosis will take part.
