Tap away the pain: new technique may ease injection discomfort

NCT ID NCT07583472

First seen May 21, 2026

Summary

This study looks at whether tapping the skin before a shot (the Helfer Skin Tap Technique) can lower pain and boost comfort during a muscle injection. About 60 adults getting a common painkiller injection will be randomly assigned to either the tap method or standard injection. Pain and comfort levels are measured right after the shot to see if the simple tap helps.
