Placebo vs. procedure: heart valve repair trial tests if device really helps

NCT ID NCT07133386

Summary

This study aims to find out if a minimally invasive heart valve repair device called TriClip improves symptoms and quality of life for people with severe tricuspid regurgitation, a condition where a heart valve doesn't close properly. Researchers will compare 150 patients who receive the actual device procedure to those who undergo a placebo procedure to see which group feels better. The main measure is whether patients report improved health status on a heart failure questionnaire after treatment.
