Major heart valve study aims to settle which implant saves more lives

NCT ID NCT05454150

Summary

This study aims to find out which of two common types of heart valve implants is better for people with severe, symptomatic aortic stenosis. It will compare a balloon-expandable valve to a self-expanding valve in nearly 2,000 patients. The main goal is to see which valve leads to fewer deaths and disabling strokes at 90 days and one year after the procedure.
