Doctors use heart scans to unlock mystery of dangerous pregnancy condition

NCT ID NCT06099275

Summary

This study aims to better understand preeclampsia, a serious blood pressure condition in pregnancy, by measuring how well the heart pumps blood. Researchers will use a special ultrasound on the heart (echocardiogram) to compare 80 pregnant people—some with untreated preeclampsia and some who are healthy. The goal is to gather information that could help guide future treatment decisions, but this study itself does not test a new treatment.
