New device tested to clear hardened heart arteries before stent

NCT ID NCT06736899

Summary

This study is testing if using a special device to grind away hardened calcium in a heart artery branch works better than the standard method before placing a stent. Researchers will compare the two approaches in 200 patients with coronary artery disease to see which one leads to better stent placement and fewer future heart problems. The goal is to improve outcomes for patients with these complex, calcified blockages.
