Heart patients and doctors weigh in: stent or no stent?

NCT ID NCT07378163

First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study surveys 600 people—including heart disease patients and their healthcare providers—to understand their preferences between two treatments for blocked arteries: permanent metal stents (DES) or drug-coated balloons (DCB) that leave no metal behind. The goal is to find out what risks people are willing to accept to avoid a permanent implant, and how these choices affect anxiety and well-being. No new treatment is being tested; instead, the study gathers opinions to guide future care decisions.
