New drug combo tested to keep heart stents clear
NCT ID NCT04014803
Summary
This study aims to find out if a newer blood-thinning drug (prasugrel) works better and is as safe as a standard one (clopidogrel) when taken with aspirin after a heart stent procedure for complex blockages. It will involve 3,500 adults who are having a planned, non-emergency stent placement. Researchers will compare how well the two drug combinations prevent serious heart problems like heart attacks or death over time.
