French health data reveals: does heart screening actually help diabetes patients?
NCT ID NCT04534530
Summary
This study uses French national health insurance data to see if routinely screening for hidden heart disease helps prevent major heart problems in people with type 2 diabetes who are at very high risk. It will compare the health outcomes and costs for about 90,000 patients who were screened versus those who were not. The goal is to determine if this common screening practice is worth the cost and actually improves patient health.
