Heart scan study aims to predict future heart attacks
NCT ID NCT07051473
Summary
This study is looking at whether a special heart imaging scan (coronary CT angiography) can help doctors better predict which patients with coronary artery disease are at highest risk for future heart problems. Researchers will follow 300 patients who have already had this scan and received either a stent procedure or medication treatment. The goal is to see if certain plaque features visible on the scan can help doctors make smarter decisions about who needs a stent versus who can be managed with medications alone.
