Heart scan could save lives of kidney transplant patients
NCT ID NCT06234410
First seen Feb 14, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 14 times
Summary
This study looks at whether a special heart scan (CTCA) can better predict heart attacks and other heart problems in people waiting for a kidney transplant. Heart disease is the leading cause of death after a kidney transplant, and current risk checks aren't good enough. The study will follow 332 adults on the transplant waitlist to see if the scan helps identify those at highest risk.
