Silent heart threat in gut disease patients: can new scan spot it early?
NCT ID NCT06695065
Summary
This study aims to see if a special type of heart ultrasound, called speckle tracking echocardiography, can detect very early heart changes in people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) before any symptoms appear. Researchers will enroll 100 adults with IBD to compare this advanced scan with standard heart tests and measure inflammation. The goal is to learn if this scan can predict future heart problems in this at-risk group.
