New heart scan technology put to the test against gold standard

NCT ID NCT04316676

Summary

This study compared two newer heart CT scan methods against the current best test (PET scan) for measuring blood flow to the heart muscle. Researchers enrolled 20 patients already scheduled for a standard PET scan to see if the newer CT scans could provide equally accurate information about blockages and blood flow. The goal was to determine if these newer, potentially more convenient scans could reliably diagnose coronary artery disease.
