Doctors scan hearts to see how blood transfusions affect the elderly
NCT ID NCT06060639
Summary
This study aims to understand how blood transfusions affect heart function in elderly patients with anemia who come to the emergency room. Researchers will use heart ultrasound scans (echocardiograms) taken before, immediately after, and 15 minutes after a transfusion to measure changes. The goal is to learn which specific heart measurements are most impacted by receiving donated blood.
