Heart-Safe cancer drug trial offers hope for vulnerable patients

Summary
This study is testing whether a leukemia drug called acalabrutinib is safe for people who also have moderate to severe heart problems. Researchers will compare it to other standard treatments to see which causes fewer heart-related side effects. The trial will enroll 60 adults with chronic lymphocytic leukemia and weakened heart function.
