Could a common diabetes pill protect new Moms' hearts after risky pregnancies?

NCT ID NCT06785116

Summary

This study is testing if a medication called dapagliflozin, often used for diabetes, can help reduce future heart risks in women who had high blood pressure during pregnancy. Researchers will enroll 200 women who recently gave birth and had conditions like pre-eclampsia. Participants will take either the real medication or a placebo pill daily for six months to see if it improves heart health markers like blood pressure and heart structure.
