Heart pump surgery gets extra rhythm fix to prevent dangerous beats
NCT ID NCT05034432
Summary
This study tests whether adding a heart rhythm procedure during heart pump (LVAD) surgery reduces dangerous irregular heartbeats afterward. It involves 100 patients with advanced heart failure and a history of serious rhythm problems. Half will receive the extra rhythm surgery during their pump implant, while half receive standard care, with both groups followed for 18 months.
