Scientists listen to the Heart's 'Nervous System' in diabetes patients

NCT ID NCT07471802

Summary

This study aims to understand how a common diabetes medication (SGLT2 inhibitors) affects the body's automatic nervous system, which controls the heart. Researchers will monitor the heart rate patterns of 150 adults with type 2 diabetes, some of whom also have heart failure or chronic kidney disease. The goal is to gather knowledge about how this medication might help regulate the nervous system, not to test a new treatment.
