Major heart pump study tracks 400+ patients for survival and safety
NCT ID NCT07458074
Summary
This nationwide Italian study is observing how well modern mechanical heart pumps (called VADs) work for adults with severe, medication-resistant heart failure. It will track over 400 patients to see how many survive in the hospital and at 1 and 5 years after getting the pump, while also carefully recording any complications. The goal is to gather real-world data to help doctors better understand the long-term benefits and risks of these life-support devices.
