Doctors test 'Freezing' heart plaque to prevent future heart attacks

NCT ID NCT05600088

Summary

This early study is testing a new device that freezes dangerous, non-blocking plaque in heart arteries to try to stabilize it and prevent it from rupturing and causing a major heart attack. It involves up to 30 patients who recently had a heart attack or unstable chest pain and have a specific type of high-risk plaque. The main goal is to check if the freezing procedure is safe and feasible, with patients followed for one year.
