Two-in-One heart pill trial aims to slash risk of major cardiac events

Summary
This large trial is testing whether a single daily combination pill (containing blood pressure, cholesterol, and aspirin medications) plus an anti-inflammatory drug (colchicine) can better prevent serious heart and limb problems in people who already have heart or blood vessel disease. It will enroll over 7,700 participants in Brazil who are at least 45 years old and have a history of conditions like heart attack, stroke, or clogged arteries. The goal is to see if this simpler, two-part strategy is more effective than standard care at reducing deaths, heart attacks, strokes, and amputations.
