Tiny probe aims to give doctors faster heart snapshots in Life-or-Death moments

NCT ID NCT02927041

Summary

This study aimed to see if a small, temporary ultrasound probe could help doctors make better and faster decisions for unstable patients in intensive care. The probe, placed down the throat for up to 72 hours, would give continuous pictures of heart function. Researchers planned to compare outcomes for 60 patients using this new tool against standard care methods.
