Sticky patch could catch hidden Stroke-Causing heart problem

NCT ID NCT07407790

Summary

This study is testing whether a small, wireless heart monitor patch worn on the chest for up to 14 days is as good as or better than standard hospital equipment at finding an irregular heartbeat called atrial fibrillation (AF) after someone has had a stroke. About 450 adults who recently had a stroke or mini-stroke will be randomly assigned to use the patch or receive the usual hospital check-up. The main goal is to see if the patch helps doctors find AF faster so they can start the right medication to prevent another stroke.
