Summary
This study collected information about how well the HL 40 heart-lung machine and temperature probes worked during heart, chest, or blood vessel surgeries. Researchers observed 184 patients of all ages who were already scheduled to use these devices during their operations. The study simply tracked what happened during surgery without changing anyone's treatment plan.
