Doctors track hidden heart strain in ventilated patients

NCT ID NCT07450846

Summary

This study aims to better understand how the heart is affected in patients with severe lung failure (ARDS) who are on breathing machines. Researchers will observe 500 critically ill adults to see how often and in what ways heart strain develops during treatment. The goal is to gather information that could help guide future care, but this study itself does not test a new treatment.
