New strategy aims to unlock full power of heart meds for elderly patients
NCT ID NCT06578078
Summary
This study is testing if a drug called Lokelma (SZC), which lowers potassium, can help elderly patients with both heart failure and chronic kidney disease safely take higher, more effective doses of their standard heart medications. Many patients cannot take the full recommended dose of these life-saving drugs because high potassium is a common side effect. Researchers will compare patients who receive Lokelma while their heart meds are increased to those who get standard care without it.
