New scan aims to predict heart recovery after surgery

NCT ID NCT07443696

Summary

This study is testing a new type of PET scan to see if it can accurately identify which areas of damaged heart muscle are still alive and could recover after a procedure to restore blood flow. About 40-60 adults with heart failure caused by blocked arteries will receive the experimental scan. Researchers will compare the scan's predictions to how well the heart muscle actually functions six months after surgery.
