Scientists probe hidden heart risks after liver transplants

NCT ID NCT06043531

Summary

This study aimed to understand why liver transplant patients have a higher risk of heart disease. Researchers measured a substance called TMAO in the blood of 19 transplant recipients to see if it's linked to blood vessel and heart function. The goal was to gather knowledge to help develop future treatments, not to test a specific therapy.
