Can a new PET scan spot hidden heart damage?

NCT ID NCT07296081

First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tests a new type of PET/CT scan (68Ga-FAPI) to see if it can detect active scarring in the heart muscle of people with heart failure. Researchers will compare this scan with standard MRI to find out if it can spot early or ongoing fibrosis that current methods miss. The goal is to develop better ways to monitor and treat heart scarring in the future.
