New pacing technique tested for Hard-to-Treat heart failure

NCT ID NCT05491655

Summary

This study is testing whether a specific type of heart pacing, called high-intensity His bundle pacing, can improve heart function in patients with heart failure who have a 'narrow QRS' on their ECG. Researchers will implant a special pacemaker/defibrillator in about 34 participants and compare active pacing to minimal backup pacing over six months. The main goal is to see if this pacing method increases the heart's pumping strength and improves patients' quality of life.
