Can free healthy food keep heart patients out of the hospital?
NCT ID NCT06115369
Summary
This study tested whether providing 90 days of healthy food to heart failure patients after a hospital stay could improve their health and prevent return trips to the hospital. Researchers compared giving medically tailored meals, fresh produce boxes, or no food support to 150 participants. They also tested if making the food delivery conditional on attending doctor visits or picking up medications made it more effective.
