Scientists hunt for hidden heart risk genes in cancer survivors

NCT ID NCT02610426

Summary

This study aims to understand why some breast cancer patients develop heart problems after certain treatments while others do not. Researchers will analyze stored DNA samples from 162 patients who previously received chemotherapy. By comparing the genes of patients who developed heart failure with those who did not, they hope to identify genetic markers that predict this risk.
