Scientists test if common heart pill does its job

NCT ID NCT07281014

Summary

This study aims to understand if a standard low dose of a common heart failure drug (spironolactone) fully blocks the effects of a harmful hormone called aldosterone. Researchers will give 20 stable heart failure patients infusions of this hormone and the drug in different combinations to measure its effects on the body's salt and water balance. The goal is to gather biological information to see if current treatment doses are optimal.
