New Slow-Release water pill tested for better fluid control in heart patients

NCT ID NCT06995144

Summary

This study tested whether a new extended-release version of the water pill torsemide helps remove more salt and fluid from the body after lunch compared to the standard immediate-release version. Twenty people with stable heart failure who were already taking water pills participated. Each person tried both versions in a carefully controlled setting where their urine was measured to see which pill worked better over time.
