Major heart failure trial tests old drugs for new hope

Summary
This large, completed study tested two different drug combinations to see if they could help people with chronic heart failure live longer and stay out of the hospital. It involved about 1,100 participants with weakened hearts. One part tested a blood pressure drug combo (Hydralazine-ISDN), and another part tested the diabetes drug Metformin in patients who also had diabetes or were at risk for it.
