Scientists scan hearts to unlock secret of new Drug's power
NCT ID NCT07332767
Summary
This study aims to understand how a newer heart medication (mavacamten) works in people with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), a condition where the heart muscle thickens and obstructs blood flow. Researchers will use a specialized, non-invasive MRI scan to measure the 'energy score' in the heart muscle of 20 participants before and after taking the medication. The goal is to see if the drug's benefits come from restoring the heart's fundamental energy balance, which could help doctors better monitor treatment in the future.
