Scientists probe hidden heart benefits of popular Weight-Loss drugs
NCT ID NCT07483801
Summary
This study aims to understand how two weight-loss medications, semaglutide and tirzepatide, directly affect the heart and blood vessels, beyond just helping people lose weight. Researchers will recruit 112 adults, including people with normal weight, obesity, and obesity with high blood pressure, to measure changes in blood flow and heart function. The goal is to learn if these drugs have separate, beneficial effects on the cardiovascular system that could improve treatment for high blood pressure related to obesity.
